The Attack Aircraft Was Not a Boeing 757?
  • A scientist would try to prove that a Boeing did crash into the Pentagon, faced with accusations that it didn't,  but with what evidence?  See Debunking Sites
  • There is a surprising amount of evidence that a small jet or missile did crash into the Pentagon.

Quotation from American Society of Civil Engineers, Building Performance Report: "The first photograph (figure 3.3) captured an image of the aircraft when it was approximately 320 ft (approximately 0.42 sec-ond) from impact with the west wall of the Pentagon. Two photographs (figures 3.3 and 3.7), when compared, seem to show that the top of the fuselage of the aircraft was no more than approximately 20 ft above the ground when the first photograph of this series was taken." more on page 13 of the ASCE report

Boeing 757 details from ASCE (American Sociey of Civil Engineers
The impacting airplane was a Boeing 757-200 aircraft, originally delivered in 1991. This aircraft was designed to accommodate approximately 200 passengers and 1,670 cu ft of cargo. The wingspan, overall length, and tail height (see figure 3.1) were respectively 124 ft 10 in., 155 ft 3 in., and 44 ft 6 in. Maximum takeoff weight was 255,000 lb, including up to 11,275 gal of fuel.  Much of the aircraft fuel was contained in wing tanks. The aircraft was designed to cruise up to 3,900 nautical miles at a speed of Mach 0.80 (approximately 890 ft/s). The two engines were manufactured by Rolls-Royce and had 44,000 lb of combined thrust.  Landing gear: 3,800, lb Fuel: 14,600 lb, Total: 43,800 lb., The balance of the weight was in the fuselage. In the normal course of use the center fuel tank is the last filled and the first used. Thus the weight of the fuselage at the time of impact was 181,520 – (2 x 43,800) = 93,920 lb. Of this, 36,200 – (2 x 14,600) = 7,000 lb was fuel in the center tank.

Why is the CNN tape manipulated?
  • The fireball appears to be created by a graphics program
  • Outlining has enhanced the impression of a 'monster'....fear mongering?

Images show September 11 Pentagon attack

The Press / 'Official' version

This photo was taken by security cameras outside the Pentagon on September 11.
This (manipulated) photo was created September 12.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Department of Defense on Thursday released a series of photos taken by a security camera that show the fireball from a hijacked airliner crashing into the Pentagon on September 11.

At 9:43 a.m., a hijacked Boeing 757 slammed into part of the 29-acre complex used by uniformed and civilian employees of the U.S. military. The crash killed about 200 people, including all 64 on the plane. Tens of thousands more were evacuated.

EXTRA INFORMATION
Gallery: Images of Pentagon crash and explosion

The impact of the airliner and leaking fuel produced intense heat and a smoky blaze that contributed to the collapse of part of the Pentagon. The attack penetrated three of the building's five rings, and the fire spread through the wooden roof.

Authorities initially closed roughly one-half of the Pentagon, but most of the building was reopened within a week.

Two other jetliners hijacked on September 11 crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, causing the collapse of the twin towers and killing more than 2,800 people. A fourth hijacked airliner crashed in Pennsylvania.
