The Judge was informed that the criminal defendant, Diane Lewis, charged with violating U.S. Export laws, was a business partner of the new First Lady and Ms Lewis arranged to become a CIA snitch to supposedly help them finger more terrori sts. So Ms Lewis was quietly turned loose.   • American Prospect, How the DLC does it.    A Business-Led Party

    Freeing Democrats from being, well, Democrats has been the Democratic Leadership Council's mission since its founding 16 years ago by Al Gore, Chuck Robb, and a handful of other conservative, mostly southern Dems as a rump faction of disaffected elected officials and party activists. Producing and directing the DLC is Al From, its founder and CEO, who's been the leader, visionary, and energizing force behind the New Democrat movement since Day One. A veteran of the Carter White House and Capitol Hill, where he'd worked for Louisiana Representative Gillis Long and served as executive director of the House Democratic Caucus, From helped build the Committee on Party Effectiveness, a forerunner of the DLC, in the early 1980s. To From, a key rationale for establishing the DLC in those days was to protect the Democrats' eroding bastion in the South against mounting Republican gains, and indeed one of the DLC's chief projects in the 1980s was to create and promote the Super Tuesday primary across the South, aimed at enhancing the clout of southern Dems in selecting presidential candidates.

    Privately funded and operating as an extraparty organization without official Democratic sanction, and calling themselves "New Democrats," the DLC sought nothing less than the miraculous: the transubstantiation of America's oldest political party. Though the DLC painted itself using the palette of the liberal left--as "an effort to revive the Democratic Party's progressive tradition," with New Democrats being the "trustees of the real tradition of the Democratic Party"--its mission was far more confrontational. With few resources, and taking heavy flak from the big guns of the Democratic left, the DLC proclaimed its intention, Mighty Mouse–style, to rescue the Democratic Party from the influence of 1960s-era activists and the AFL-CIO, to ease its identification with hot-button social issues, and, perhaps most centrally, to reinvent the party as one pledged to fiscal restraint, less government, and a probusiness, pro–free market outlook.   It's hard to argue that they haven't succeeded.

    Today's is not your father's Democratic Party. Though the dwindling chorus of party progressives provides counterpoint, today's Democrats are proud to claim the mantle of budgetary moderation. They oppose President Bush's $2-trillion tax-cut plan not by arguing mainly for more spending on health, education, and welfare, but because it risks the new sacred cause of paying off the national debt. They are the party of increased military spending, the death penalty, the war on drugs, and partnership with religious faith. They are the party of Ending Welfare As We Know It, the party of The Era of Big Government Is Over.

    The New Democrats, who helped bring about this shift, have surged in power and influence. The DLC and its think tank, the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI), have blossomed into a $7-million-a-year operation. The New Democrat Network (NDN), which provides funds to dozens of certified co-thinkers in federal, state, and local races, raised nearly $6 million last year. Twenty U.S. senators and 70 members of the House of Representatives have formally affiliated themselves with New Democrat caucuses, and hundreds of state and local elected officials are signing on. The three men who've dominated the last three presidential tickets, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Joseph Lieberman, the DLC's most recent chairman, are all quintessential New Democrats. So are many of the party's rising stars, such as Senator John Edwards of North Carolina; Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana, the DLC's new chairman; and Maryland Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.

    Though the DLC offers a nominal $50 membership to anyone interested, its mass base is minuscule. "There's a New Democrat audience of about 5,000 to 10,000 people who get our stuff on a regular basis," says Matthew Frankel, the DLC's spokesman. And with a nonexistent grass-roots presence, the DLC is generally unknown except to practitioners of "inside baseball" politics. Yet the affiliation of scores of members of Congress has enabled the DLC to establish alliances with Fortune 500 corporate supporters, particularly along the so-called K Street corridor of Washington-based lobbyists and in high-tech enclaves such as California's Silicon Valley.

    Once, the Reverend Jesse Jackson disparaged the DLC as "Democrats for the Leisure Class." But no one should underestimate the DLC's role in remaking the Democratic Party. Disciplined and single-minded, working tirelessly to forge alliances between individual Democratic elected officials and business groups, zealously promoting the political fortunes of their stars, and publishing a dizzying array of white papers and policy proposals, the DLC has given strategic coherence to what otherwise would have remained an inchoate tendency within the party. It has become a forum within which like-minded pro-business Democrats can share ideas, endorse one another, and commiserate about the persistence of the Old Guard.

  • Palestine Chronicle "Jonathan Tasini, who is running against Clinton in the New York Democratic primary, is gaining the most visible support. His position on the Iraq war is solid, as he wants all U.S. troops home now. Tasini also believes that democracy in Iraq is a long way from developing and argues that there will be no such thing in Iraq's future as long as the U.S. stays the course. "[The] invasion of Iraq has created a theocracy," says Tasini. "The people of Iraq have the right to decide what law they choose to follow."

    The Green Party is also tossing its antiwar weight into the ring with veteran antiwar Green Howie Hawkins winning his party’s nomination. Hawkins still has to gather enough signatures to get his party’s line on the ballot. The Libertarian Party of New York recently nominated Jeff Russell, who says he'd bring soldiers home as soon as possible, and the Socialist Equity Party is running Bill Van Auken, who wants to bring U.S. troops home now.

    None of the antiwar third-party candidates at this point in the campaign season have any real name recognition or financial backing. Even so, Tasini the Democrat does. Antiwar flyers plaster campuses throughout New York City touting his challenge to Hillary, and his campaign is being discussed on numerous antiwar blogs and e-mail discussion lists. Tasini's drive may soon spark some real tension among antiwar activists in New York, however, as many believe supporting Tasini will fail the movement against the war and set up Clinton for a 2008 run for president.

    For starters, they contend that Tasini is still a Democrat, which means that if he doesn't beat Hillary in September's primary election, he will most likely endorse her campaign and hand over his antiwar funds to the pro-war Democratic Party, something he denies. Another problem is Tasini may not even appear on the Democrat’s ballot in September, he still has to turn in 15,000 Democratic signatures before that happens. And Hillary, despite her primary challenge, has already accepted her party’s nomination in typical establishment style: ignore any challenges and stay on message, no matter how misguided it may be."

January 26, 2009 -- Former "Al Qaeda" member poised to spill beans on Balkans operation

In what could prove to be the biggest break in the investigation of past U.S. intelligence and neo-conservative ties to Osama Bin Laden and his "Al Qaeda" operation, a Bahraini national who has been held in a detention center in Bosnia-Herezegvina, is poised to blow the whistle on past U.S. military and financial links to the activities of Osama Bin Laden and his band of Islamist guerrillas during the Balkans civil wars of the 1990s.

Ali Hamid, who was an Al Qaeda officer in Bosnia, has been held since December 2008 in a detention center in eastern Sarajevo, in what constitutes the Bosnian Serb republic. Hamid was transferred to the detention center after serving as 12-year prison sentence in Bosnia for planning a car bombing in western Mostar, in which 43 people were injured, three seriously. Hamid's Al Qaeda name is "Abu Ubayda."

Hamid wants to be transferred to Serbia and testify about crimes committed by U.S.- and Bin Laden-backed Bosnian Muslims against Serbians and Croatias during the 1990s civil war in Bosnia.

Bosnia has ordered the deportation of Hamid and his information as gained the interest of both Serbian and Bosnian authorities. The ex-Al Qaeda "El Mujahedin" commander has been visited by the Serbina consul in Sarajevo. Hamid was a key wtiness in The Hague at the trial of General Rasim Delic, a Bosnian Muslim commander accused of war crimes.

Hamid may be a key source of information on U.S. support for his network in the 1990s, On July 5, 2007, WMR reported: WMR has previously reported that during the Bosnia War in the 1990s, the United States provided hundreds of millions of dollars in assistance to the Bosnians that was collected from various Arab and Muslim countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar, Egypt, and others. The collection of most of the money was done via the Bosnia Federation Defense Fund, also known as the "Bosnia Defense Fund," which was run by Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, Feith's law firm -- Feith and Zell (FANZ) -- Riggs Bank (a principal for which was Jonathan Bush, uncle of George W. Bush), and the Central Bank of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) in Sarajevo. Feith's former law partner, Jerusalem-based Marc Zell, is now partnered in a Baghdad law firm with Salem Chalabi, the nephew of Ahmad Chalabi. WMR learned from a CIA source involved with the Bosnia Defense Fund that the agency was concerned that money transferred by Riggs, the major bank serving Saudi ambassador to the U.S. Prince Bandar and his wife Princess Haifa, to the fund's account at the Central Bank in Sarajevo was "bleeding" to terrorist elements believed to be linked to Osama bin Laden and "Al Qaeda."

When the CIA source complained about Bosnia Defense Fund cash falling into the hands of Islamic terrorists, including people linked to bin Laden, he was told by one of the major Bosnia Defense Fund principals to "just make it fucking happen!" The Bosnia link to "Al Qaeda" was important. In fact, bin Laden had reportedly not only visited Bosnia, but carried at least one Bosnian diplomatic passport and had interfaced with Bosnian diplomats in Vienna, Austria. WMR has learned of a money pipeline between bin Laden and Bosnia that existed since 1993, during a time when French intelligence documents reported that bin Laden and his forces in Darunta, Afghanistan were still under the operational control of the CIA and British intelligence. The financial pipeline between bin Laden and Bosnia included the Third World Relief Agency; an Egyptian-born Saudi businessman named Yasin Kadi (who was once based in Chicago); a Tunisian-born Bosnian named Chafik Ayadi bin Muhammad, who headed Kadi's operations in Zagreb, Croatia; the Sarajevo Deposit Bank of Kadi and Ayadi; and the First Austrian Bank. The Third World Relief Agency connection also provides a link between bin Laden and the Egyptian "blind sheik," Omar Abdel Rahman, convicted for his role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Yasin Kadi's Chicago link is important. During the time of the Bosnia Defense Fund's money flow to Sarajevo, a deal approved by the Clinton White House and the CIA, the current Democratic House Caucus Chairman and Chicago-based congressman Rahm Emanuel served as Assistant to the President for Political Affairs and Senior Advisor to the President for Policy and Strategy. Emanuel was closely involved with Clinton's foreign policy initiatives in Bosnia and Kosovo and he claims Clinton went to both places to deal with Al Qaeda training. It now appears that Emanuel was telling part of the truth -- the Clinton administration was, in fact, supporting Al Qaeda training in Bosnia and Kosovo. In addition to Perle and Feith being involved with providing money to Bosnian Muslims, with the support of Rahm Emanuel, we also point out credible Serbian reports that fugitive American financier Marc Rich, pardoned by Bill Clinton, was involved in busting international sanctions by smuggling weapons to Bosnian Muslims. Rich's attorney was I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who was recently spared a jail term by George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

During the fighting in Bosnia, NATO forces picked up a number of foreign Muslim irregulars. Two of those detained by Norwegian NATO forces later surfaced as Saudi hijackers of the U.S. aircraft on 9/11. There is also intelligence that Egyptian lead hijacker Mohammed Atta worked for U.S.-supported Muslim forces during the Bosnian civil war. Kadi had used Chicago as a base to launder money to various groups affiliated to bin Laden's operations, including a deal involving a DuPage County real estate operation. After leaving the White House in 1999, Emanuel, possessing only a B.A. in Political Science, became a Chicago investment banker for Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and earned some $20 million . . .

Ironically, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein is part of Allianz AG, the firm that helped bankroll the Nazis in Germany in the early 1930s along with Brown Brothers Harriman, for whom George W. Bush's grandfather, Prescott, was a principal. Prescott also partnered in deals with German industrialist Fritz Thyssen, a major upporter of Adolf Hitler.

Serbian officials would be wise to offer full 24x7 security protection to Hamid. There are several organizations that would stop at nothing to prevent him from talking about what he knows about U.S. and neocon support for Bin Laden and Al Qaeda in the Balkans.

  • RON BROWN - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported to the Bob Grant Radio Show a hole in top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors.
  • JAMES BUNCH - Died from a gunshot wound. Reported to have a black book of people containing names of influential people who visited prostitutes in Texas and Arkansas.
  • DANNY CASOLARO - Investigative reporter, investigating Mena airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. Found dead with slit his wrists in the middle of his investigation.
  • SUZANNE COLEMAN - Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to back of head, ruled a suicide, was pregnant at the time her death.
  • GREGORY COLLINS - Died from a gunshot wound, January 1989. 
  • KEITH CONEY - Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck in July, 1988. 
  • STEVE DICKSON - Died in a small plane crash. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton's advisory council personally treated Clinton's mother, stepfather and brother.
  • KATHY FERGUSON - Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson died in May,1994 was found dead in her living room with a gunshot wound to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she was going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Corbin Jones lawsuit. She was reported a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones case.
  • VINCENT FOSTER - Former White House counselor, and former colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose law firm. Foster was found dead July 20, 1993 of a gunshot to the head ruled a suicide. Rumours were that Foster and Hillary had an affair.
  • HERSHELL FRIDAY - Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded.
  • PAULA GROBER - Clinton's speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9, 1992. She died in a one car accident.
  • DR.STANLEY HEARD - Chair National Chiropractic Heath Care Advisory committee died with his attorney.
  • KEVIN IVES and DON HENRY - Known as "The boys on the track" case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas Airport Drug operation. This controversial case where initial report of death was due to falling asleep on railroad track. Later reports claim the two had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many people linked to the case died (see below) before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.
  • JORDAN KETTLESON - Was found shot to death in the front seat of his pickup truck in June 1990. 
  • JOHNNY LAWHORN Jr. - Mechanic, found a check made out to Clinton in the trunk of a car left in his repair shop. Died when his car hit a utility pole.
  • MARY MAHONEY - A former White House intern was murdered July 6, 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened during the pre-trial publicity surrounding the Paula Jones lawsuit days after Newsweek's Mike Isakoff dropped hints that a former White House staffer was about to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.
  • KEITH McMASKLE - Died, stabbed 113 times, November 1988. 
  • FLORENCE MARTIN - Accountant subcontractor for the CIA related to the Barry Seal Mena Airport drug smuggling case. Dead of three gunshot wounds.
  • JAMES MCDOUGAL - Clinton's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. McDougal was a key witness in Kenneth Starr's investigation.
  • CHARLES MEISSNER - Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash.
  • STANLEY MUGGINS - Suicide. Investigated Madison Guarantee. His report was never released.
  • DAN MULLONEY, a television news photographer who shot footage of the 1993 Branch Davidian siege.
  • DARLENE NOVINGER - Former FBI operative, January 23rd, 2003. Novinger was known to hold sensitive information on the Clinton and Bush I administration's drug operations. Her husband murdered March 1987 when she went public with initial reports. Her father died July 8, 1993 four hours after Darlene was a guest on the Tom Valentine show. Suffered retaliation after reporting discussions by government protected drug smuggler who described contacts with Vice President George Bush and his son, Jeb Bush.
  • JERRY PARKS - Head of Clinton's gubernatorial security team in Little Rock. Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Parks' son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house
  • JEFF RHODES - He was shot, mutilated and found burned in a trash dump in April 1989. 
  • CHARLES RUFF - White House Counsel and Clinton defense attorney during the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the impeachment trial. Of apparent natural causes.
  • C. VICTOR RAISER II - Former National finance Co-Chairman, Clinton for President Campaign and son MONTGOMERY RAISER died in a private plane crash in Alaska, July 30th,1992. Raiser was described as a major player in the Clinton organization by Dee Dee Meyers.
  • PAUL TULLEY - Democrat National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock, Arkansas September 24, 1992, Described by Clinton as a "Dear friend and trusted advisor".
  • BILL SHELTON - Arkansas state Trooper and Fiancee of Kathy Ferguson.Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiancee.
  • BARRY SEAL - Drug running pilot out of Mena, Arkansas. Death was no accident.
  • JON PARNELL WALKER - Whitewater Investigator for Resolution Trust Corporation. Fell to his death from his Arlington, Virginia apartment balcony August 15, 1993. Was investigating Morgan Guarantee scandal.
  • PAUL WILCHER - Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 "October Surprise" was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993 in his Washington DC Apartment. Had delivered report to Janet Reno 3 weeks before his death.
  • ED WILLEY - Clinton fund raiser-found dead November 30, 1993 deep in the woods in Virginia of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide, Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed that Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House. Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.
  • JAMES WILSON - Was found dead by hanging May 18, 1993. Was reported to have ties to Whitewater.
  • BARBARA WISE - Commerce Department Staffer, worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.

  • JAMES MILAN. Found decapitated-Coroner ruled death due to natural causes.
